Hello! My name is Matt and I'm a senior from Cromwell, CT. I've had four internships over the course of my time at UConn in both insurance companies and at consulting firms. During my internships, I was exposed to both life and health insurance products. Joining UAS my freshman year was one of the greatest decisions I've made at college. From the friends you make in the club, to the industry connections, the benefits to joining are numerous!! Outside of actuarial things, I love to ski. You will find me in Vermont almost every weekend in the winter skiing with friends! If you have any questions or want to talk more, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to chat with current or prospective students!

Rita Gao
Director of Social Media
Hi!! I’m a sophomore majoring in actuarial science and I’m from Bristol, CT. I chose actuarial science for the many different types of paths whether that be industry/consulting or something that’s not a “traditional” actuary role. This interested me since having diverse options meant I was able to try different things out and learn more even further down the road. I’ve had one internship so far at Point32Health and I was on the valuation team. I think this really just solidified my choice of going actuarial science because I was able to learn so many new things and actually worked on important projects/reports that will actually be used. Outside of actuarial science, I’m a part of Delta Phi Lambda, and I really enjoy to read and run for fun sometimes too!!
